  16. THOR  2.3  is an advanced multi-format offline reader, supporting the
  17. QWK,  Fido,  UUCP,  SOUP,  Bluewave, Omen, ABBS, MBBS and Hippo (BBBS)
  18. message  formats.  It will also handle TCP-connections with NNTP, SMTP
  19. and POP3, with extensive MIME support.
  20.  
  21. Changes in 2.3:

  23. THOR:
  24. - Support for NNTP authentication.
  25. - ConnectTHOR and CfgTCP are now using the ClassAct BOOPSI GUI system.
  26. - MIME text/enriched compliant.  Fixed a text/richtext bug that could
  27.   cause crashes on certain messages.
  28. - Full support for MIME message/partial, including garbage collection.
  29.   This means Thor now almost has a 100% full RFC 1521 implementation
  30.   (multipart/alternative support should still be made more intelligent.)
  31. - No longer require the socket.library emulation when run under
  32.   AmiTCP.
  33. - Automatic decoding of uuencoded files in the message body.
  34. - Progressbar when saving/printing multiple messages
  35. - "Mark login conference" added to the mark window.
  36. - Catchup has a submenu now with "ALL" and "Upto current message" as 
  37.   items.
  38. - New window for pack/purge of selected conferences added. 
  39. - Added support for unarchiving MIME attached archives.
  40. - New ARexx function added: OBTAINFILETYPE. It will return in result
  41.   the filetype of a file using datatypes.library.
  42. - HELP index keyword system added when pressing the HELP key in THOR.
  43. - If a ARexx script called "MIME.thor" exist in THOR's rexx-dir, it will
  44.   be called with the filename of the attached file when the user click
  45.   on a binary attachment icon in THOR. This allows for the same
  46.   functionality as the uudecode.thor script provided.
  47. - The event window will now also show message-id on retract msg events.
  48. - On TCP#? types, THOR will handle clicking on the newsfiles window to
  49.   make a download event. However, some restrictions apply:
  50.   - Format of the newfiles.txt in the system home dir must be the same
  51.     as the Aminet RECENT file, with nothing except for the filenames
  52.     etc.
  53.   - The EVE_DOWNLOAD event must be ON for the System type TCP or 
  54.     TCP_ONLINE. It's not on as default, but future extensions might
  55.     use this to get files from Aminet using some ftp client directly
  56.     from THOR.  THOR will provide both the filename and the dir
  57.     in the event data it creates.

  59. - CPS is display after mail and news retrieval.
  60. - Made the progressbar on downloading of mail reflect the actual number
  61.   of bytes read instead of the number of messages.  A great advantage
  62.   when some of the mails are bigger than the others.
  63. - Avoids downloading duplicate mails when the DELETE flag is not used.

  68. script.
